=============================================================== RELIGION IS MAN REACHING UP TO GOD! CHRISTIANITY IS GOD REACHING DOWN TO MAN! SURPRISE! ONLY VOLUNTEERS GO TO HEAVEN WHEN THEY DIE! THE HOLY BIBLE TEACHES THAT ONLY VOLUNTEERS GO TO HEAVEN! THREE STEPS TO HEAVEN– 1. AGREE WITH GOD: VOLUNTARILY ADMIT YOU ARE A SINNER , LOST AND HEADED FOR HELL. AND THAT YOU NEED A SAVIOR. { ROMANS 3:23 } { ROMANS 6:23 } 2. AGREE WITH GOD: YOU HAVE FREE WILL TO BE SAVED– WHOSOEVER WILL MAY COME. GOD HAS GIVEN YOU FREE WILL TO BELIEVE WHAT HE HAS TO SAY TO YOU IN HIS HOLY WORD AND TO RECEIVE WHAT HE HAS TO GIVE TO YOU THROUGH HIS ONLY SON AS A FREE GIFT. NO ONE CAN EARN HIS GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE! { EPHESIANS 2:8-10 } 3. AGREE WITH GOD: JESUS CHRIST IS CREATOR GOD IN HUMAN FLESH, AND THAT HE DIED ON THE CROSS ( HIS FINISHED WORK) FOR ALL OF YOUR SINS (PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE) ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES. AND THAT HE AROSE FROM THE DEAD TO GIVE YOU NEW LIFE IN HIM BY HIS SPIRIT. { JOHN 1:1-2 } {JOHN 1:14 } { 1 CORINTHIANS 15:3,4 } { ROMANS 8:9 } THIS SIMPLE PRAYER COULD HELP YOU TO BE SAVED, BUT PRAYER IS NOT NECESSARY FOR YOU TO BELIEVE AND TO RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST INTO YOUR LIFE. HE KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU. HE WILL ACCEPT YOU AS YOU ARE IF YOU WILL COME TO HIM…DRAW NIGH TO HIM AND HE WILL DRAW NIGH TO YOU. { JAMES 4:8 } =============================================================== DEAR GOD OF HEAVEN, CREATOR OF ALL THINGS, THANK YOU FOR GIVING TO ME YOUR SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN MY SAVIOR JESUS. I INVITE THE LORD JESUS CHRIST INTO MY LIFE BY HIS INDWELLING SPIRIT. PLEASE HELP ME DAILY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HIM IN THE BIBLE AND TO BE MORE LIKE YOUR SON. IN THE LORD JESUS NAME, I ASK AND PRAY. AMEN. =============================================================== STILL DOUBTFUL? READ WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS FOR YOURSELF; { ROMANS 10:9-13 } AND { 1 JOHN 5:12 } REMEMBER: THE BIBLE SAYS THAT ONLY VOLUNTEERS GO TO HEAVEN! LIFE IS SHORT! DEATH IS SURE! SIN IS THE CAUSE! BUT, CHRIST JESUS IS THE ONE AND...

Learn MoreMERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU… FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS! After all, JESUS, is the Reason for the Season– CLIFF AND NANCY TARPY Merry Christmas 2014… La Grande, Oregon Our letter is so last minute this year that I debated about whether to send one out. We’ve been enjoying the cards and letters that we’ve received so far this year and thank you for remembering us. This year started off with a wonderful surprise visit from our niece, Molly, and our acquaintance with Molly’s new husband, Kyle, all the way from Alaska. We also got to visit with other family members at that delicious lunch that we shared on New Year’s Day. (Thanks again for the wonderful visit!) Not much happened until Cliff and I went with Clifton and Carey to Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, in July. We were “breaking in” Clifton’s new car, visiting my brother (Michael) and family, plus meeting up with our good friends from Missouri, the Ryan’s, who were visiting in Idaho. It was really great to see the Ryan’s again! It was also wonderful to catch up with our Idaho family members, too! (Miss you guys!) In September we were surprised and saddened at the loss of our sister-in-law, Frances, in Florida from cancer. Frances was a Christian so Cliff’s brother, Mike, has been comforted by knowing she is in Heaven. When October rolled around, we realized that our daughter, Christy, was really needing some help (in California). She’s been having a lot of physical health problems and was struggling so much that I felt I needed to go help her out, even in my condition. I was able to spend 3 weeks with Christy, Andrew and the 3 grand kids, whom I hadn’t seen in 19 months. It was wonderful to spend time with all of them and to see how much the kiddos had grown. The twins are 8 and our grandson is now 3… Wow! Ian had changed the most. Christy is still having some...
Learn MoreLARRY’S COWBOY HEAVEN would include many of these favorite western movie and TV stars of yesteryear. Larry called them his “Sagebrush Heroes”. Although George O’Brien was his all time Favorite Western movie actor, most of the names mentioned in this tribute video were favorites of his also. Larry loved Western movies and TV shows with western themes. Larry also enjoyed reading western novels written by authors like Zane Grey, Max Brand and Louis L’Amour, who had many of their books made into movies. Larry had even read the two or three western novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of “Tarzan”. I am sorry Larry never got to see the new adult Gunsmoke-like TV western called, “Longmire”. My wife and I met Craig Johnson, the author of the books that the TV series is based on. If you like really good modern day western dramas, this show is for you. Enjoy this neat little black and white video that shows many of Larry’s favorite screen thrill cowboys. In my opinion, George O’Brien (His all time favorite Western Hero) jumps on his horse, Mike very early on in this video. He waves his hat to his many fans, number one at the box office many times before Gene Autry and Roy Rogers appeared on the scene. O’Brien appears in a scene right after John Wayne. Look for him. If it is not George O’Brien waving his hat to us, please tell me ( erbtarzan@yahoo.com ) who it is then? The next scene also looks like George O’Brien to me. Again, with his dark horse Mike, but this time, having a female rider behind him as they leap between two cliffs. The gal looks like Rita Hayworth in her Mexican senorita dress to me, or her stunt double. If I am correct, that would be from O’Brien’s movie, Renegade Ranger. There is no mention of George’s name anywhere in this “B” western mini review, but there should have been. Larry and I often wondered why all of the film historians on western movies, either ignore O’Brien’s great work , or just like this film clip, are just plain ignorant of George O’Brien’s part in the history of making Western movies. It’s fun to go back...
Learn MoreLARRY LOVED OLD BARNS ALONG SIDE OF THE ROAD. When we were travelin’ back in the day, he would want to pull over and take a break and it was usually near some “Old Barn”. He also loved to take photos of them and to see other peoples photos too. He once said that “People and Old Barns” were similar. At the time, I didn’t know what he meant, but after seeing the video below, I think I know what he was getting at. No, that is not me standing by that old barn– But it could be? Enjoy this beautiful video about old barns and old people with me and see for yourself. what Larry might have meant.. http://www.youtube.com/embed/J8Ioa1gVVeA?showinfo=0&rel=0 (Thanks Chuck, my ‘Ol Guy friend, for sharing this great video with the rest of us) THE END? ...
Learn MoreLARRY ALWAYS LIKED PHOTOGRAPHY. He especially enjoyed outdoor photos of all kinds of subjects. He would send me stuff that was taken by other photographers and comment briefly about something in the picture. Most of the stuff that he sent me involved old barns, old houses, old fences and old churches. This photo was taken in a Gold fields, Arizona Ghost town. I think that he would have been satisfied growing up in another century. He told me once — “That it was like being there.” The old Cowboy Church of that era was simple as shown here. ...

Learn MoreJuly 29th, 2014 — This would have been Larry Rayl’s 68th birthday, if he hadn’t been so suddenly taken home and away from us by Cancer the “silent killer”. My wife and I, as Christians, listen every morning to the “Strength for the Journey” Daily Devotion. We enjoy a few minutes of daily inspiration together to begin our day. The Bible clearly says that we should not boast about tomorrow, for no one knows what a day may bring forth. Many years ago I gave Larry this “Strength for the Journey” link. Later, He said that he was listening every morning to a daily devotion. I asked Larry which daily devotion do you listen too? He said, “The one you gave me.” As my wife and I listened to the daily devotion for today, I could not help but think of Larry our good friend. If he were still with us today– his birthday, July 29th, he would be listening in also. And, maybe he is? Today’s “Strength for the Journey” daily devotion would have been of special interest to Larry, a longtime baseball fan. It features two of his all time favorite sports heroes– New York Yankee’s center fielder, Mickey Mantle and the Brave’s Hank Aaron. Back in our day, Gentleman Hank had broken Babe Ruth’s all time home run record. It also talks about other sports happenings that Larry witnessed on TV in 2007. Please share with me a small part of Larry’s life by listening in to July 29th, Larry’s Birthday, devotion. Click on the link below and hit the play arrow button with volume on. Learn MoreLARRY RAYL was a photographer and he not only loved to take photos of his own of all kinds of things, but he also enjoyed the photography of others. From time to time I would run across photos that reminded him of the GEORGE O’BRIEN western movies that he loved to watch over and over. Many of them were filmed in the deserts of Arizona, Wyoming and Utah. Here are some beautiful examples and words to live by. Learn MoreLife can be very tough. John Wayne, one of Larry’s favorite Western movie actors once said, “Life is tough, even tougher– If you are stupid.” Eventually, our body is going to die. While living, we’re going to face some very difficult choices in Life. Those choices may involve our friendships, our finances and our health. We will face consequences for our actions and the circumstances we are going to experience may gain us some awful pain. But, as bad as life’s hard realities can be, there is an answer– The best answer. Our pain is temporary. The things that cause our pain are temporary. The treatments, the prescriptions, the therapies, the surgeries, the winning, and the losing, all part of life, are also temporary. All these things that we have seen and experienced are passing. (2 Cor. 4: 17 and 18) Believers in the Lord Jesus are headed for an eternity beyond our earthly imaginations. Life’s difficulties simply can’t compare to this Heavenly glory that awaits believers who have placed their faith on the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31). But our eternal glory, that wonderful future that we cannot yet see, is eternal… forever… incorruptible… and reserved for God’s precious children who do nothing more, or nothing less, than to believe in His Only Son for their Salvation! (1 Cor.15:1-4 –57 and 58) The glory of life is to love, not to be loved; to give, not to get; to serve, not to be served. Before there was a world famous USA Olympian, Billy Mills and before there was a Kansas University long distant running record holder, Billy Mills: Larry and I witnessed this young man’s future greatness as a winner in the Haskell Indian High School track and field games. Little did we know that someday we would again hear his name nationally and actually get to see this great American athlete participate in the Kansas Relays? Larry loved sports athletes and especially local heroes. Billy Mills lived by a simple Indian code: 1. Make your words clear. 2. Don’t take things personally. 3. Don’t assume anything. 4. Always do your best. In other words, “The Golden Rule”? “Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” ~end ...
